Fish bar owner lands a whopper
IT escaped the net for more than 40 years – but now this sea monster is set to keep hunger at bay for Fylde coast diners. The eight foot long halibut is destined for life on a plate next to some golden chips and mushy peas after being bought at Fleetwood Docks auction hall.
Proud owner of the fish, Chris Richardson, is now looking forward to serving the 18-and-a-half-stone fish at his take-away and restaurant, Richardson's Fish Bar on Lord Street, in Fleetwood. Sean can batter a way to fryer's title
A FLEETWOOD fish fryer is sizzling with success after getting to the closing stages of a national competition - for the second time.
Two years ago Sean Lloyd, 25, was runner-up in the National Young Fish Fryers of the Year competition. Now he is hot property again after reaching the last 10 of the event which is run by National Federation of Fish Fryers. The fryer at Richardson's on Dock Street did not take part in the competition last year because was too busy getting married. But he is back on form and will be put to the test on August 31 when he goes before a panel of eight judges at the national federation's head-quarters in Leeds. Continue reading →
